Why Strive Insights?
I strive to help businesses collect and optimize data to generate ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS needed to enhance their performance and strategic focus.
Most can create beautiful dashboards displaying the state of the business or generate many pages of market research. But what does that ACTUALLY mean? Where I succeed (and others fail) is not only visualizing and indicating what's important, but also explaining why things are happening and WHAT TO DO NEXT.

I am a business person first, data consultant second. I work with all key stakeholders, from data analyst to C-Suite, to understand key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarks, and establish realistic goals for implementation.
DATA WORKFLOWS &
ETL
Data needs to be mined, cleaned, and transformed prior to analysis. Data workflows can be as simple as connecting data sources to a data visualization tool or a full-blown ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process into data mart(s) or a data warehouse.
DATA ANALYSIS & VISUALIZATION
Data can be overwhelming and needs to be synthesized into understandable nuggets for true analysis. Visualization is used not only for reporting purposes, but to distinguish the trends and insights needed for strategic decision-making.
DELIVERY OF ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS
I do not data dump. I include insights, recommendations for actions, AND business impact in my analysis. I NEVER leave data interpretation to the executives, but let them decide on my recommendations with the data to back them up.

FOCUS GROUP & INTERVIEWS
Develop format, recruit, lead and engage participants with questions/feedback of focus groups. Design and ask questions and collect responses for single-person interviews.
PUBLIC INFORMATION (i.e. EARNINGS CALLS)
Summarize competitive and industry intelligence from public sources, such as company websites, press releases, earnings calls, expert analysis and more.

About Me
Alfred Vaca is an experienced data leader with over 15 years of managing databases, analytics, data visualization, and business intelligence. He enjoys identifying areas of opportunity through data visualization and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive informed decision making.
Alfred has over 8 years of data experience in the professional/college sports and entertainment industries, last working as the Assistant Athletic Director of Digital Marketing Strategy and Business Analytics for University of Miami Athletics. Previous to graduating with an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, he had worked 6 years in the financial services industry with American Express, managing databases, creating dashboards, conducting market research, and using web data to optimize site performance. Prior to American Express, Alfred received his Bachelors Degree from Cornell University.
